The next Kriti we’re going to learn is Karuna Jaladhe in the ragam Nadanamakriya composed by Saint Tyagaraja.

Divyanama keerthanas

Saint Thyagaraja composed a set of songs to sing collectively or as a chorus, as an expression of bhakthi and bhajana tradition. They came to be known as Divyanama keerthanas.

These krithis basically deal with Nama Mahatmya. They are generally in the Lambaka style i.e. One pallavi and multiple charanams with similar melody structure.

There are 78 compositions in the group called Divyanama kirtanas.

Indeed every thing in this World (ilanu) is of Your (nI) nature (mayamEgA) only; therefore, in what way (Emani) (mayamEgAnilanunEmani) can I (nE) find fault (dUrudunu) (literally to reproach) with You or this World?
